Sunday City Walks

In September and October 2008, guided walks around various parts of Liverpool and Merseyside will depart at 2 p.m. on most Sunday afternoons.

The themes are as follows:

7th September 'Call for the Doctor'
Hear of some early Liverpool doctors, and find out just how different their ideas were.
Meet 2pm outside the Empire Theatre, Lime Street, L1.

21st September 'Birkenhead: City of the Future'
Find out about the early years of Birkenhead, as a new book on the topic goes to print.
Meet 2pm Hamilton Square Station (Wirral Line), Hamilton Street, Birkenhead.

28th September 'Storehouses of Empire'
The rise and demise of the Dockside Warehouse.
Meet 2pm junction Great Howard Street and Oil Street, L3.

5th October 'Liverpool's other Music Scene'
Celebrating the whole spectrum of Liverpool's musical heritage.
Meet 2pm by steps of Metropolitan Cathedral, Mount Pleasant, L3.

12th October 'Mossley Hill - Part II'
A follow up on our previous walk, continuing the saga of the folks who lived on the hill.
Meet 2pm outside Mossley Hill Station, Rose Lane, L18.

19th October 'Meet the Iron Men - and more'
A walk of discovery around Crosby Marine Park.
Meet 2pm Waterloo Station (Northern Line), South Road, L22

26th October 'A Park for the People'
Discover some hidden delights in Joseph Paxton's gem, the first Park to be publicly funded.
