Sunday City Walks

In November 2008, guided walks around various parts of Liverpool and Merseyside will depart at 2 p.m. every Sunday afternoon.

The themes are as follows:

2nd November 'More Gruesome Goings On!'
Another ghostly topic, by popular request!
Meet 2pm by the steps of the Metropolitan Cathedral,
Mount Pleasant

9th November 'Mercantile Jack'
Tales of foreign seamen ashore.
Meet 2pm Mersey Travel Centre,
Paradise Street Bus Station
, L1.

16th November 'Of Ships and Shipowners'
From sail to steam and beyond - and the pioneers involved.
Meet 2pm in gardens of St Nicholas Parish Church, Old Churchyard, L2 (off Chapel Street/Georges Dock Gates).


23rd November 'We were the Pioneers'
The story of the Co-partnership Tenants movement, which enabled ordinary working people to enjoy Garden Suburb life.
Meet 2pm at Wavertree Garden Suburb Institute,
Thingwall Road
, L15.

30th November 'And now, the end is near!'
As 2008, Capital of Culture Year, draws to a close, a look at what Liverpool has gained.

Meet 2pm outside Crowne Plaza Hotel,
St Nicholas Place

The cost of these walks is £3.50 per person (£2.50 concessions) payable to the Blue Badge or Green Badge Guide at the start of the walk. Walks last 90-120 minutes, and will take place as advertised unless unforeseen changes dictate changes. They are not dependent on the weather, so appropriate clothing and footwear is recomended.

Remember that you can HIRE A GUIDE, if you wish, to provide any of these walks at a future date and time to suit the requirements of your own group.
