Sunday City Walks

Between 1st May and 26th June 2005, guided walks around various parts of Liverpool and Merseyside will depart at 2 p.m. on most Sunday afternoons.
The themes are as follows:

May 1st - EXPLORING THE SANKEY, Part 2. Another journey of discovery along Britain's first industrial canal. (Please note that this is a long walk and may be muddy in places). Meet at Earlestown Station, on the Merseyrail City Line.

May 8th - TALES OF THE RIVERBANK, Part 1 (SeaWalk). A leisurely stroll along the Mersey shore towards Otterspoool. Meet outside the Beatles Story Exhibition, Albert Dock, Liverpool L3.

May 15th - DISCOVER GARSTON (Walk of Faith). Find out how much still remains of a town which was 'swallowed up' by Liverpool. Meet at Garston Station (Merseyrail Northern Line), Liverpool L19.

May 22nd - FLOATING PALACES (SeaWalk). Stories of the Lusitania and the great Cruise Liners. (In conjunction with the National Museums Liverpool exhibition). Meet outside the Merseyside Maritime Museum, Albert Dock, Liverpool L3.

June 19th - THEATRES GREAT & SMALL, Part 2. Raise the curtains and dim the lights again for more entertaining tales. Meet outside the Merseytravel/Tourist Information Centre, Queen Square, Liverpool L1.

June 26th - AMERICAN CONECTIONS (SeaWalk). Recalling some of our trade and trading links across the Atlantic. Meet at the Mersey Ferries terminal, Pier Head, Liverpool L3.

The cost of these walks is £3.50 per person (£2.50 concessions) payable to the Blue Badge or Green Badge Guide at the start of the walk. Walks last approx. 90 minutes, and will take place as advertised unless unforeseen changes dictate changes. They are not dependent on the weather, so appropriate clothing and footwear is recomended.

Remember that you can HIRE A GUIDE, if you wish, to provide any of these walks at a future date and time to suit the requirements of your own group.
