Sunday City Walks

Between 4th July and 15th August 2004, guided walks around various parts of Liverpool and Merseyside will depart at 2 p.m. on most Sunday afternoons. The themes are as follows:

July 4th - 'FAITH HOPE AND CHARITY'. A walk through Port Sunlight Village which will allow you to appreciate the virtues of a generous benefactor, W. Hesketh Lever. Meet at Port Sunlight Station, Greendale Road, Wirral.

July 11th - BEATLES AND BEYOND (Part 2). Meet at the 'Case Study' sculpture: junction of Mount Street and Hope Street, Liverpool L1.

July 18th - 'THAT WAS THE WEEK THAT WAS'. A week in which we recall the laying of the foundation stone of the Anglican Cathedral and the visit to Liverpool of the Bass Brewery employees. Meet at the Anglican Cathedral steps off Upper Duke Street, Liverpool L1.

July 25th - VILLAGE IN BLOOM. Hear about the Woolton of the 18th and 19th centuries. Visits to Woolton Hall and the floral clock are included. Meet Woolton Post Office, Woolton Street, Liverpool L25.

August 1st - FAITH ON THE WATERFRONT. A walk looking at some places of faith on and near the Liverpool Waterfront. Meet by the Enquiries office, Paradise Street Bus Station, Liverpool L1.

August 8th - DISCOVER ORMSKIRK'S HIDDEN HISTORY (Part 2). We continue our walk to take in Inebriation, Adoration, Habitation and Education! Meet at Ormskirk Station, Station Road, Ormskirk.

August 15th - HALLS OF DISTINCTION. A stroll along Hope St towards the Masonic Hall, learning of former buildings along the way. Meet outside the Philharmonic Hall, Hope Street, Liverpool L1.
