Sunday City Walks

Between 11th January and 29th February 2004, guided walks around various parts of Liverpool and Merseyside will depart at 2 p.m. on most Sunday afternoons.
The themes are as follows:

January 11th - LIKE GRANDFATHER LIKE GRANDSON. A short walk in Bromborough including a visit to the Parish Church designed by George Gilbert Scott. Meet at Bromborough Cross , Wirral.

January 18th - YEAR OF THE MONKEY. A glimpse into Europe's oldest China Town as it prepares for its New Year celebrations. Meet at the Chinese Arch, Nelson Street , Liverpool L1.

February 1st - ANOTHER FIRST CLASS SELECTION. A look at more of the Grade 1 Listed Buildings in Liverpool's city centre. Meet at the Queen Square Information Centre, Liverpool L1.

February 8th - IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF DICKENS. Discover some of the haunts frequented by Charles Dickens on his many visits to Liverpool. Meet at the Queen Square Information Centre, Liverpool L1.

February 15th - THE BEATLES AND BEYOND. Roll up for a musical walk in the U.K.'s Pop Capital. Meet at the John Lennon statue outside the Cavern Pub, Mathew Street , Liverpool L2.

February 22nd - WALK OF FAITH, PART 1. In this Year of Faith in Liverpool, a look at significant buildings of different faith groups in just one small part of the city. Meet at the corner of Upper Parliament Street and Princes Road, Liverpool L8.

February 29th - A TRIO OF PARKS. A visit to the parks of Tranmere. Meet at Green Lane Merseyrail Station (on the Liverpool to Chester line), Birkenhead, Wirral.

The cost of these walks is £3 adults, £2 conc's, payable to the Blue Badge Guide at the start of the walk. Walks last approx. 90 minutes, and will take place regardless of the weather!

Remember that you can HIRE A GUIDE, if you wish, to provide any of these walks at a future date and time to suit the requirements of your own group.
