Sunday City Walks

Between 7th March and 25th April 2004, guided walks around various parts of Liverpool and Merseyside will depart at 2 p.m. on most Sunday afternoons.
The themes are as follows:

March 7th - ULLET ROAD CHURCHES. A chance to appreciate buildings supported by Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber's Open Churches scheme. Meet at the bus stop outside the Unitarian Church, Ullet Road ,  Liverpool L17.

March 14th - LIFE AND DEATH. A workhouse, a prison, a cemetery and an inner city farm. Meet at Rice Lane Merseyrail Station, Walton, Liverpool L9.

March 28th - TOXTETH PARK CEMETERY. Discover more about some well-known Liverpool personalities. Meet at the Cemetery Gates, Smithdown Road , Liverpool L15.

April 4th - THE ORIGINS OF THE MAUNDY MONEY. We visit the Anglican Cathedral as it prepares for the Queen's visit - a special event in the centenary year.
MEET AT 1 p.m. at the main entrance to the Anglican Cathedral
, off Upper Duke Street,  Liverpool L1.

April 18th - LIME STREET AT TWO. The title of an autobiographical work - and the starting point of a walk celebrating the Liverpool author Helen Forrester. Meet under the clock at Lime Street Station, L1.

April 25th - WATERLOO REVISITED. A further chance to stroll around this hidden suburb in the shadow of the Freeport. Meet outside Waterloo Station , South Road, Liverpool L22.

The cost of these walks is £3 adults, £2 conc's, payable to the Blue Badge Guide at the start of the walk. Walks last approx. 90 minutes, and will take place regardless of the weather!

Remember that you can HIRE A GUIDE, if you wish, to provide any of these walks at a future date and time to suit the requirements of your own group.
