Sunday City Walks
Between 6th April and 18th May 2003, guided walks around various parts of Liverpool and Merseyside will depart at 2 p.m. on most Sunday afternoons. The themes are as follows:
April 6th - EVERTON THROUGH THE AGES, PART 2. A village with a view and a gentleman's retreat. (Includes a visit to St George's Church). Meet at the corner of Everton Road/ Brunswick Road, opposite Grant Gardens, Liverpool L6.
April 13th - PROMENADES AND PRIVATE PLACES. A further exploration of Cressington and Grassendale Parks. Meet at Cressington Station, Knowsley Road, Liverpool L19.
April 27th - 'EX LIBRIS'. A chance to explore the hidden delights of the Hornby Library and the Oak Room in Liverpool's Central Libraries. Meet at the top end of
William Brown Street, Liverpool L3.
May 4th - EPIC MOMENTS. Reflections upon the Battle of the Atlantic (in this its 60th Anniversary week) and Liverpool's links with the Titanic and Lusitania tragedies. Meet at the Queen Victoria memorial,
Derby Square, Liverpool L2.
May 11th - SOUTHPORT REVITALISED. Explore some of the new developments in 21st century Southport. (Includes a walk to the end of the Pier, weather permitting!). Meet at Southport Station,
Chapel Street, Southport.
May 18th - THE WORLD IN ONE ROAD. Celebrate the cultural diversity of the famous 'Scottie Road' as it plans to mark its history with a festival and a plaque. Meet at the Rotunda/Hamlet pub, Scotland Road, Liverpool L5.
