Sunday City Walks

Between 19th January and 30th March 2003, guided walks around various parts of Liverpool and Merseyside will depart at 2 p.m. on most Sunday afternoons.
The themes are as follows:

January 19th - ALLERTON GEMS. Burne-Jones, Bibby and a Beatle! (Includes a visit to All Hallows Church). Meet outside Allerton Library, Allerton Road, Liverpool L18.

January 26th
- THE YEAR OF THE GOAT. A glimpse into Europe's oldest Chinatown, past and present, as it prepares for its New Year celebrations. Meet at the Chinese Arch, Nelson Street, Liverpool L1.

February 2nd - THE MOLE OF MASON STREET.  A visit beneath the streets of Liverpool inside the Williamson Tunnels. Meet beneath the clock tower, University of Liverpool, Brownlow Hill, L3. (Please note: Price £3 for all, no concessions).

February 16th - MUSIC, THE UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE.
A look behind the scenes at the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Hall. Meet outside the Hall in
Hope Street
, L1.

March 2nd - ANCIENT BRUNANBURGH. Explore sites of an old hall, ancient crosses and battlefields where Bromborough is today. Meet at Bromborough Cross, Wirral.

March 16th - WHEN IRISH EYES ARE SMILING. Celebrate St Patrick's Day with some Liverpool-Irish links. Meet at the Queen Square Information Centre, Liverpool L1.

March 30th - ROPEWALKS REVEALED. A new face for an old quarter, with some surprising changes. Meet at the corner of Hanover Street/ Duke Street, Liverpool L1.

The cost of these walks is £3 adults, £2 conc's, payable to the Blue Badge Guide at the start of the walk. Walks last approx. 90 minutes, and will take place regardless of the weather!

Remember that you can HIRE A GUIDE, if you wish, to provide any of these walks at a future date and time to suit the requirements of your own group.
