Sunday City Walks
Between 8th September and 27th October 2002, guided walks around various parts of Merseyside will depart at 2 p.m. on most Sunday afternoons. The themes are as follows:
September 8th - MEET THE EARL & THE PUSSYCAT. A last chance to tour the exhibition which celebrates the 13th Earl of Derby's amazing collection (with insights from the curator). Meet outside the Walker Art Gallery, William Brown Street, L3.
September 15th - COASTWATCH. A coastline walk along Crosby promenade to visit the coastguard station they wanted to close! Meet at Blundellsands Station, L23, 2.15 pm.
September 22nd - LIVING IT UP, HOME OR AWAY. A further peep into new city centre living and/or luxurious hotel styles. Meet at Queen Square Information Centre, L1.
September 29th - DREAMING SPIRES, PART 1. Follow the path of this year's student intake and discover some hidden corners of the academic quarter. Meet at front of Lime Street Station, L1.
October 6th - TURN LEFT FOR AFRICA ... Celebrate Black History Month with more stories of Liverpool's trading exploits. Meet at Queen Square Information Centre, L1.
October 13th - EAST HAMLET. Discover some of the hidden delights of Eastham, a Domesday Book village. Meet at St Mary's Church, Stanley Lane, Eastham, Wirral.
October 20th - FROM LO-TECH TO HI-TECH. A discovery trail from an old garden to a new kind of park. Meet at the corner of Wavertree Road/Botanic Road, L7.
October 27th - EVERTON THROUGH THE AGES, PART 2. A village with a view and a gentleman's retreat (includes a visit to St George's Church). Meet at the corner of Everton Road/Brunswick Road (opposite Grant Gardens), L6.
