Sunday City Walks

Between 7th July and 18th August 2002, guided walks around various parts of Merseyside will depart at 2 p.m. on most Sunday afternoons.
The themes are as follows:

July 7th - MAYORS, MERCHANTS & MANACLES. More stories about the trades and traders who made Liverpool the second city of Queen Victoria's Empire. Meet at the
Queen Square
Information Centre, Liverpool L1.

July 14th
- TRUTH WILL PREVAIL. Discover the origins of the Mormons' Mission motto, on the anniversary of their 1837 arrival in Liverpool. Meet at the Pumphouse,
Albert Dock
, Liverpool L3.

July 21st - HORSES FOR COURSES. Find out about the origins and growth of the world's most famous steeplechase. Meet at Aintree Station, Liverpool L9.

July 28th - OBSERVING BIDSTON. A Hall, windmill, school, church and pub - all in an ancient village setting. Meet at the corner of Hoylake Road/
Bidston Village Road
, Birkenhead, Wirral.

August 4th - COURTS, CASTLES & COCKFIGHTING. Discover the delights of the pretty sandstone village of West Derby. Meet outside the Parish Church, Town Row, Liverpool L12.

August 11th - SUNDAY IN THE CITY. In conjunction with the City Council's summer programme, discover the delights of the Cultural Quarter. Meet at the
Queen Square

August 18th - THE WORLD IN ONE CITY. Discover stories about peoples who helped enrich Liverpool's multi-cultural melting-pot. Meet at the

The cost of these walks is £3 adults, £2 conc's, payable to the Blue Badge Guide at the start of the walk. Walks last approx. 90 minutes, and will take place regardless of the weather!

Remember that you can HIRE A GUIDE, if you wish, to provide any of these walks at a future date and time to suit the requirements of your own group.
