Sunday City Walks

Between 5th May and 30th June 2002, guided walks around various parts of Merseyside will depart at 2 p.m. on most Sunday afternoons. The themes are as follows:

May 5th - KICKING OFF. From Dixie Dean to Bill Shankly, stories of the match, the players and the Park in between. Meet at the Everton Football Shop,

May 12th
- ... WHO DANCED WITH THE PRINCE OF WALES. In Queen Elizabeth's Jubilee year, we remember the celebrations for the Royal Visit of 1886 - and other Royal connections. Meet at the Queen Square Information Centre, Liverpool L1.

May 19th - SAINTS AND SUNDAY WALKERS. A visit to the old village of Childwall which grew up around All Saints Church. Meet at the corner of Score Lane/
Childwall Valley Road
, Liverpool L16.

May 26th - FROM DINGLE TO NEW BRUNSWICK. Discover how a world trading centre became a leading Call Centre. Meet outside Brunswick Station,
Sefton Street, Liverpool L8.

June 9th - WATERLOO REVISITED. Another chance to explore some of the places which mark the birth of Waterloo. Meet outside Waterloo Station,
South Road, Liverpool L22.

June 23rd - ALL VERY REASSURING. A close look at how the commercial heart of the nineteenth century was graced by imposing Insurance Company buildings. Meet at the
Queen Square
Information Centre, Liverpool L1.

June 30th - QUARRYMEN AND GENTLEMEN. A visit which explores two faces of the quaint village of Woolton.

The cost of these walks is £3 adults, £2 conc's, payable to the Blue Badge Guide at the start of the walk. Walks last approx. 90 minutes, and will take place regardless of the weather!

Remember that you can HIRE A GUIDE, if you wish, to provide any of these walks at a future date and time to suit the requirements of your own group.
