Between 2nd September and 21st October 2001, guided walks around various parts of Merseyside will depart at 2 p.m. on every Sunday afternoon. The themes are as follows:
September 2nd - WEST KIRBY WAYS. A walk through a well-regarded part of Wirral. Meet at West Kirby Station,
Grange Road, Wirral.
September 9th - MORE POT-POURRI. Talking of myriad men and women who have helped to shape the face of Liverpool. Meet at Queen Square Information Centre.
September 16th - DISCOVER GRASSENDALE AND CRESSINGTON PARKS. Two private residential estates with their own promenades. Meet at Cressington Station,
Knowsley Road, Liverpool 19.
September 23rd - LOOPING THE LOOP. At least, a Lydiate version. Meet at the Weld Blundell Arms,
Southport Road, Lydiate. (Bus route 300, Liverpol-Southport).
September 30th - OF TOMBS AND MONUMENTS. A Visit to Flaybrick Cemetery and stories of Victorian entrepreneurs who influenced the growth of Birkenhead. Meet at the main gates, Tollemache Road, Birkenhead.
October 7th - POETS' CORNER. Celebrate Liverpool's many successful poets on a walk round the Hope Street Quarter. Meet outside the Everyman Theatre,
Hope Street.
October 14th - POINTS OF PORT SUNLIGHT. A chance to see something of Port Sunlight's history as it hosts the Wirral History Fair. Meet at Port Sunlight Station,
Greendale Road, Wirral.
October 21st - A LIVERPOOL TREBLE! Our tribute to a famous treble of cup triumphs and the legends of Joe Fagan, Billy Liddell and Tom Saunders. A visit to Liverpool FC Museum, with the 'treble' on display, can be made for the special rate of £1. Meet outside the
Walton Breck Road gates. (Bus routes 26/27).
