Sunday City Walks

Between 8th July and 19th August 2001, guided walks around various parts of Merseyside will depart at 2 p.m. on most Sunday afternoons.  The themes are as follows:

July 8th - I DO LIKE TO STROLL ALONG THE PROM PROM PROM, Part 2. A continuation of the journey along the New Brighton waterfront. Meet at New Brighton Station,
Atherton Street

July 15th - AT THEIR MAJESTIES' PLEASURE. Celebrate the many Royal visits Liverpool has enjoyed.

July 22nd - BY THE RIVER JORDAN. A Sunday stroll in the Park. Meet at the Sefton Park entrance near
Aigburth Vale
, Liverpool 17.

July 29th - EXPLORE THE HAMILTON QUARTER. A chance to see changes to this developing part of Birkenhead. Meet at Hamilton Square Station, Hamilton Street.

August 5th - SALTHOUSE DOCK TO SALT LAKE CITY. Discover the stories behind this dramatic pilgrimage to Liverpool.

August 12th - COASTWATCH!  A coastline walk along Crosby promenade to visit the Coastguard Station they wanted to close. Meet at Blundellsands Station at 2.15 pm.

August 19th - OUT OF THE ASHES. See the old and the new coming together in the Rope Walks Quarter.

Unless stated otherwise, walks start at 2 p.m. from the Queen Square Tourist Information Centre.

The cost is £3 adults, £2 conc's, payable to the Blue Badge Guide at the start of the walk. Walks last approx. 90 minutes, and will take place regardless of the weather!

Remember that you can HIRE A GUIDE, if you wish, to provide any of these walks at a future date and time to suit the requirements of your own group.
