Liverpool Future
RULES OF THE GROUP

1. FORMAT: Messages should be in Plain Text format, not in HTML. Please make sure that a carriage return is automatically inserted after no more than 70 characters. Separate your paragraphs with blank lines, to make them easier to read.

2. ATTACHMENTS: Attachments are not allowed. If you wish to share a Word document, a JPG image, etc., with others, please upload it to the Group's Files area - or invite members to send you a personal email requesting a copy.

3. HEADINGS: Make sure that the Subject line accurately reflects the contents of your message, so that other members can skip it if they are not interested in that particular subject. The heading shouldn't start with 'Re:' unless it's a reply to another message on the same subject.

4. THREADS: Indicate who and what you're replying to - the usual convention being to use the > character in the left margin to indicate text from a previously-posted message. But edit the excerpts down to the minimum necessary - don't 'over quote'. Send separate messages - with different Subject lines - if what you have to say covers more than one topic.

5. RELEVANCE: Preferably don't respond at all to 'off topic' messages but, if you feel you must, send your reply to the individual rather than to the whole Group. Always check the 'To:' address, to make sure your reply is going where you want it to.

6. CHAT: This is not a chat line. Don't just say 'thanks' or 'I agree' - send such messages privately to the individual you are thanking or agreeing with, rather than via the Group.
