Sunday City Walks

In October 2010, guided walks around various parts of Liverpool and Merseyside will depart at 2 p.m. every Sunday afternoon.

The themes are as follows:

Oct 3rd  "Per Tuppence, per person, per trip!"
Find out more about Mersey crossings and pre-industrial health benefits in Runcorn.
Meet at Runcorn Bus station
[Bus X1 from Paradise Street, Liverpool].

Oct 10th  "Harvest Time at Halsall"
A stroll around this historic Lancashire village and a chance to see the parish church of St Cuthbert decorated for harvest.
Meet at Halsall War Memorial, Halsall Road
, for a 2.30pm start [Bus 300 departs from Sir Thomas Street 1.21pm]

Oct 17th "Happy Birthday, John"
As Liverpool remembers his 70th birthday, we look at John Lennon's early years.
[Note: this walk will NOT include a visit to Mendips]
Meet at the corner of Menlove Avenue/Beaconsfield Road
, Liverpool L25. [Bus 76]

Oct 24th  "See them before they go!"
Maybe a last chance to view some of Liverpool's iconic but endangered buildings.
Meet outside Rigby's pub
, Dale Street, Liverpool L2

Oct 31st  "Ghostly Halloween goings-on!"
What better day for a ghost walk than Halloween.
Meet outside the Everyman Theatre
, Hope Street, Liverpool L1

The cost of these walks is £3.50 per person (£3.00 concessions) payable to the Blue Badge or Green Badge Guide at the start of the walk. Walks last 90-120 minutes, and will take place as advertised unless unforeseen changes dictate changes. They are not dependent on the weather, so appropriate clothing and footwear is recommended

Remember that you can HIRE A GUIDE, if you wish, to provide any of these walks at a future date and time to suit the requirements of your own group.
