Sunday City Walks

In January and February 2009, guided walks around various parts of Liverpool and Merseyside will depart at 2 p.m. on most Sunday afternoons.

The themes are as follows:

Sun 18th January 'The Year of the Rat'
Getting ready to celebrate another Chinese New Year.
Meet 1pm at the Chinese Arch, Nelson Street
, Liverpool L1. (Please note start time. Also, this walk is repeated on Sat 24th Jan, 1pm).

1st February 'If they fly away . . . . .'
Come and find out all about Liverpool's most popular bird.
Meet 2pm in St. Nicholas' Churchyard, Chapel Street
, Liverpool L2.

8th February 'Liverpool is the ONE!!'
Peel back the layers of history beneath Liverpool's newest development.

Meet 2pm at Paradise Street Bus Station Information Centre, Liverpool L1.


15th February 'From China (Town) to Greenland (Street)'

A chance to visit and hear about the re-birth of two iconic buildings, The Blackie and The Contemporary Urban Centre.

Meet 2pm at the Chinese Arch, Nelson Street, Liverpool L1.

22nd February 'Credit Crunch . . . what credit crunch?'
Let's explore the origins and edifices of wealthy Liverpool.
Meet 2pm in front of Town Hall, Dale Street
, Liverpool L2.

The cost of these walks is £3.50 per person (£2.50 concessions) payable to the Blue Badge or Green Badge Guide at the start of the walk. Walks last 90-120 minutes, and will take place as advertised unless unforeseen changes dictate changes. They are not dependent on the weather, so appropriate clothing and footwear is recomended.

Remember that you can HIRE A GUIDE, if you wish, to provide any of these walks at a future date and time to suit the requirements of your own group.
