Sunday City Walks
In September and October 2007, guided walks around various parts of Liverpool and Merseyside will depart at 2 p.m. on most Sunday afternoons.
The themes are as follows:
Sun 2 Sept: Hidden Secrets
To launch Heritage Month, join the Guides to explore some lesser-known nooks and crannies. Meet 2pm at the top of William Brown Street, L3
Sun 9 Sept: Jewels in the Crown.
A chance to explore facets of the World Heritage Site, on foot, and by open-top bus. Meet 2pm at the rear of The Bluecoat, College Lane, (off Hanover Street)
Sun 16 Sept: A Rodney Street Walk for Heritage Month
Meet 2pm at the corner of Upper Duke Street and
Rodney Street, L1
Sun 23 Sept: Dreaming Spires - II
A sequel to our April walk, taking in both Heritage and new build on the University Campus. Meet 2pm at the corner of Brownlow Hill and Mount Pleasant, L3
Sun 30 Sept: Bricks, Jam, Tin and Teeth!
A walk round the Orrell Park/Walton Vale area. Meet 2pm at Orrell Park Station, Orrell Lane, L9
Sun 7 Oct: Give a Dock a Good Name
The story of the growth and development of the Dock system. Meet 2pm at the riverside entrance of the
Royal Liver Building, Pier Head, L3
Sun 21 Oct: Old Hall Street through the Ages
Including a visit to the Register Office in the Cotton Exchange Building. Meet 2pm outside the Cotton Exchange,
Old Hall Street, L3
Sun 28 Oct: Explore Anfield Cemetery
Meet 2pm at the main cemetery gates, corner
Walton Lane/Priory Road, L4
