Sunday City Walks

In March and April 2007, guided walks around various parts of Liverpool and Merseyside will depart at 2 p.m. on most Sunday afternoons.

The themes are as follows:

Sunday 4th March 'Ships with a tale to tell'
Some famous, some infamous. Meet 2pm at the Mersey Ferries Ticket Office, Pier Head, Liverpool L3.

Sunday 11th March 'Mayors, Manacles and Merchants'
A Slavery Trail. Meet 2pm at the 08 Place,
Whitechapel
, Liverpool L1.

Sunday 18th March - No Walk

Sunday 25th March 'Am I Jack?'
The story of James Maybrick, a 'Jack the Ripper' suspect. Meet 2pm at the 08 Place, Whitechapel, Liverpool L1.

Sunday 1st April 'Poets, Painters & Pistols'

Stories of people who lived on Duke Street. Meet 2pm at the Travel Centre, New Paradise Bus Interchange.


Sunday 8th April Easter Day - No Walk

Sunday 15th April 'Port Sunlight Village - an architectural Gem'
The buildings and their architects.
Meet 2pm Port Sunlight Station, Greendale Road
, Wirral. (Chester or Ellesmere Port trains - Wirral Line)

Sunday 22nd April 'Georgie, Porgy...'
Stories of all the Georges connected with Liverpool.
Meet 2pm at the 'Case History' Sculpture, junction of Mount Street
and Hope Street, Liverpool L1.

Sunday 29th April 'Dreaming Spires'
A University Trail. Meet 2pm Jubilee Tower entrance, top of Brownlow Hill, Liverpool L3. (Buses 78, 79).

The cost of these walks is £3.50 per person (£2.50 concessions) payable to the Blue Badge or Green Badge Guide at the start of the walk. Walks last 90-120 minutes, and will take place as advertised unless unforeseen changes dictate changes. They are not dependent on the weather, so appropriate clothing and footwear is recomended.

Remember that you can HIRE A GUIDE, if you wish, to provide any of these walks at a future date and time to suit the requirements of your own group.
