Sunday City Walks

In April and May 2006, guided walks around various parts of Liverpool and Merseyside will depart at 2 p.m. on most Sunday afternoons.

The themes are as follows:

2nd April "Whalemeat Again!" A look at Liverpool's older businesses. Meet 2pm Travel Centre, New Paradise Bus Interchange.

9th April "A Stroll into the past"
Stories behind some Liverpool characters. Meet 2pm at gates of Toxteth Cemetery, Smithdown Road (Bus No 86)

23rd April "Celebrating St George"
A trip down memory lane of the village of Everton. Meet 2pm Heyworth Street, outside St George's Church. Bus routes 17, 17Cand 19C

30th April "Another Place"
- Performance Walk. A promenade and sculpture walk on Crosby beach. Meet 2pm Waterloo Station, Merseyrail Northern Line. 53 bus

7th May "England's Golf Coast"
- Performance Walk. Visit the World Famous seaside resort as it prepares for The Open. Meet 2pm Hoylake Station, Merseyrail Wirral (West Kirby) line.

14th May "Family Traditions"
Stories of the Earls of Sefton, Croxteth and West Derby. Meet 2pm St Mary's Church, West Derby village (buses 12 13)

21st May "One Balmy night in May!"
- Performance Walk. Celebrating the Liverpool team's success. Meet 2pm Anfield Stadium, Walton Breck Road.

The cost of these walks is £3.50 per person (£2.50 concessions) payable to the Blue Badge or Green Badge Guide at the start of the walk. Walks last approx. 90 minutes, and will take place as advertised unless unforeseen changes dictate changes. They are not dependent on the weather, so appropriate clothing and footwear is recomended.

Remember that you can HIRE A GUIDE, if you wish, to provide any of these walks at a future date and time to suit the requirements of your own group.
