Sunday City Walks
Between 7th November and 12th December 2004, guided walks around various parts of Liverpool and Merseyside will depart at 2 p.m. on most Sunday afternoons. The themes are as follows:
November 7th - SOUTH FERRY. Visit the site of the River Mersey's first steam ferry service, see an eighteenth century 'port within a port', and find visual evidence of the Liverpool Overhead Railway. Meet outside the Beatles Story Exhibition, Albert Dock, Liverpool L3.
November 14th - WHAT DID THEY DO TO DESERVE THIS? A visit to St John's Gardens to discover those who helped Liverpool through the hard times and to tell the stories of those who gave their lives for their country. Meet at the Queen Square Information Centre, Liverpool L1.
November 21st - A SLAVERY WALK. Hear about Mayors, Manacles and Merchants implicated in the notorious triangular trade. Meet outside the Bluecoat Arts Centre, School Lane, Liverpool L1.
November 28th - WALK OF FAITH: EDGE HILL AND ITS LANE. Looking at places of faith in an historic location. Meet at St Marys Church, Towerlands Street, Liverpool L7.
December 5th - 'ROOMS WITH A VIEW'. A chance to discover what a trio of hotels on Liverpool's waterfront might offer. Meet at the main entrance of the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Princes Dock, Liverpol L3.
December 12th - WALK OF FAITH: BIRKENHEAD. Witness to faith, past and present, round the core of Birkenhead.
Meet at Birkenhead Central Station, Argyle Street South, Birkenhead.
