Between 3rd September and 3rd December 2000, guided walks around various parts of Liverpool will depart at 2 p.m. on most Sunday afternoons. Some of the themes are as follows:
October 1st - BOBBY, BERYL, RAY AND TERRY. From Waterloo and Crosby to Lambeth Palace, Broadcasting House and the West End. Meet at Blundellsands Station at 2.15 pm.
October 8th - MR STEPHENSON'S RAILWAY. A walk and short ride which admires the enduring success of a Liverpool world first.
October 15th - I DO LIKE TO WALK ALONG THE PROM, PROM, PROM! A stroll from Seacombe to New Brighton. Meet at Seacombe Ferry Terminal 2.20 p.m.
October 22nd - A GOOD READ. Perceptions of Liverpool through the eyes of Charles Dickens and other writers.
October 29th - EIGHT HUNDRED YEARS ON. A new look at the seven streets established by King John's Charter.
November 5th - MORE ABOUT TOXTETH. A visit to the former Royal Hunting Forest. Meet at Park Road/
Ullet Road, 2 p.m.
November 12th - WE WILL REMEMBER THEM. A visit to Liverpool Anglican Cathedral where we will see the Founder's Plot (Bishop Chavasse) and hear how much his whole family gave. Meet outside the Cathedral,
1 p.m.
November 19th - A GLIMPSE BEHIND THE MICROPHONE. A look at Paradise Street's colourful history, with a chance to visit the BBC Radio Merseyside studios. Tickets (£3) must be purchased in advance from Radio Merseyside Reception. All proceeds to the Children in Need Appeal.
November 26th - TARTANS IN TOWN. A Liverpool walk with a Scottish focus.
