Sunday City Walks
In June and July 2006, guided walks around various parts of Liverpool and Merseyside will depart at 2 p.m. on most Sunday afternoons.
The themes are as follows:
4th June "Marinas and Mariners" - Performance Walk. A walk to precede the Clippers' return. Meet 2pm corner Sefton Street, Brunswick Quay.
11th June "What and where are St Peter's Stones?" A look at some aspects of life a century ago and how they have changed with time. Meet 2pm Rice Lane Station, Merseyrail Northern (Kirkby) Line.
18th June "Poetry, Please" - Performance Walk. More of Liverpool's literary prowess. Meet 2pm Metropolitan Cathedral steps, Mount Pleasant.
25th June "From a Pottery to a Health Club" The story of the Herculaneum! Meet 2pm Brunswick Station. Train to Brunswick (Merseyrail Northern Line), or Bus 4A
9th July "A Revolution in Retail" One man's impact on the world of shopping. Meet 2pm Lewis's store entrance, Ranelagh Place, corner Renshaw Street, opposite the Adelphi Hotel.
16th July "Discover Rock Park" Visit one of the Conservation Areas of Wirral once inhabited by an American Consul, Liverpool Businessmen and more. Meet 2pm Rock Ferry Station, Wirral (Chester or Ellesmere Port) Line
23rd July "England's Golf Coast 2" - Performance Walk. A celebration of coastal golf in Birkdale. Meet 2pm Hillside Station (Merseyrail Northern Line)
30th July "Albert Dock is 160 years old today!!" A justifiable celebration of the life and times of Albert Dock. Meet 2pm outside The Pump House Pub.
