Sunday City Walks

In September-October 2009, guided walks around various parts of Liverpool and Merseyside will depart at 2 p.m. on most Sunday afternoons.

The themes are as follows:

September 6th 'Turning the tide - part 2. They made it happen!'
What a former quarter-master from London and a 'seacoal' deckhand from Newcastle achieved in Liverpool.
Meet outside the Maritime Museum, Albert Dock, Liverpool L3.

September 13th & 20th
Heritage Open Days - No Walk

September 27th 'Not just a street of Doctors'
An exploration of Liverpool's pioneering legacies.
Meet outside the Anglican Cathedral/Oratory, off Upper Duke Street, L1.

October 4th 'Woolton Park'
A peek at some impressive Mansions.
Meet corner Woolton Hill Road/Rose Brow , Gateacre, L25.
Bus 75E/78.

October 11th 'Lime Street at Two'.
As the Liverpool Empire features her work, a walk which follows the footsteps of Helen Forrester's Liverpool.
Meet at Lime Street Railway Station steps, Liverpool L1.

October 18th 'The changing face of Litherland'
From Norsemen to Cowmen, Bargees to Matchmakers.
Meet at Seaforth & Litherland Station (Merseyrail Northern Line), Bridge Road/Seaforth Road, Liverpool L21.

October 25th 'Where is their Epitaph?'
A closer look at more Liverpool Women - and how we (forget to) remember them!
Meet by Queen Victoria's statue on St George's Plateau, Lime Street, Liverpool L1.

The cost of these walks is £3.50 per person (£2.50 concessions) payable to the Blue Badge or Green Badge Guide at the start of the walk. Walks last 90-120 minutes, and will take place as advertised unless unforeseen changes dictate changes. They are not dependent on the weather, so appropriate clothing and footwear is recomended.

Remember that you can HIRE A GUIDE, if you wish, to provide any of these walks at a future date and time to suit the requirements of your own group.
