Sunday City Walks
In January-March 2008, guided walks around various parts of Liverpool and Merseyside will depart at 2 p.m. on most Sunday afternoons.
The themes are as follows:
Sun 27 Jan: '2008 - Our Time Our Place'
Get on board, as we focus on a spectacular year of culture and celebration. We visit the Theatre Ship M.V. Fitzcarraldo, and return to the 'Baltic' for another helping of traditional Liverpool 'scouse' (Nominal charge). Meet 2pm outside the Beatles Story, Albert Dock, L3
Sun 3 Feb: 'The Year of the Rat'
A glimpse into Europe's oldest 'China Town' past and present, as it prepares for its New Year celebrations. Meet 1pm (note time) at the Chinese Arch, Nelson Street, L1
Sun 17 Feb: 'An introduction to the Great Space'
New ways of experiencing the Cathedral. Meet 1pm (note time) at the entrance to the Anglican Cathedral, off Upper Duke Street, L1.
Sun 24 Feb: 'That's Entertainment!'
From Bull Baiting to Rock Music - Liverpool entertainment through the ages. Meet 2pm outside the James Street entrance to James Street Station, L2
Sun 2 March: No Walk
Sun 9 March: 'Folks Who Lived on the Hill'
Hear about the wealthy citizens of Liverpool, who made home on the leafy slopes of Mossley Hill, in Victorian times. Meet 2pm at Mossley Hill Station, Rose Lane, L18.
Sun 16 March: 'Where the Bugs Wear Clogs'
"Respice, Aspice, Prospice" (Reflect on the Past, Consider the Present, and Provide for the Future).
Meet 2pm at Bootle Oriel Road Station, Bootle, L20
Sun 23 March: No Walk
