Sunday City Walks
In October and November 2006, guided walks around various parts of Liverpool and Merseyside will depart at 2 p.m. on most Sunday afternoons.
The themes are as follows:
1st Oct "In celebration of Black History month" Tales of Liverpool's involvement in the Triangular Slave Trade. Meet 2pm The 08 Place, Whitechapel.
8th Oct "Irish Famine Trail" part 2. More tales of Scotty Road to celebrate the Irish festival. Meet 2pm Rotunda bus stop, end of Scotland Road by Stanley Road junction.
15th Oct "St Helens Performs" - Performance Walk. Music Halls, theatres, glassblowing. Meet 2pm St Helens Central Rail Station
22nd Oct "A ring around Liverpool, episode 4". The area around Queens Drive's southern extremity. Meet 2pm - corner of Aigburth Road/Jericho Lane. Bus routes 20, 82, 168, 60, 61 and 4A
29th Oct "Ghostly goings-on" - Performance Walk. Meet 2pm outside Everyman Theatre, Hope Street. Bus 4A from Queen Square.
5th Nov "Give a street a good name, part 2" Continuing our search for stories about people and places in the City. Meet 2pm The 08 Place, Whitechapel.
12th Nov "Shopping, Pools and Philanthropy" How the Moores family made their mark on Liverpool. Meet 2pm main entrance arcade to Liverpool Central Station.
19th Nov - Performance Walk. A chance to view the 'new look' Radio Merseyside and support the 'Children In Need' appeal! A ticket only event (£5) available from Guides from 1st October.
26th Nov "Sea Breezes" A maritime walk with a focus and visit to Mersey Mission to Seafarers which this week celebrates its 150th anniversary. Meet 2pm at Waterloo Station, Merseyrail Northern Line.
